Sadhana Diwas is celebrated to commemorate Mananeeya Eknath Ranade, founder of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari and Vivekananda Rock memorial.
Eknath Ji was born on 19th Nov 1914 at Amravati district of Maharastra. He was a social activist and leader and was greatly influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. In 1963-72, Ranade played an instrumental role in the construction of Vivekananda Rock memorial and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari.
VKNRL School of Nursing in collaboration with VKNRL Hospital observed Sadhana Diwas on 19th November 2018 at VKNRL School of Nursing Auditorium. The programme was initiated with garlanding and lamp lighting followed by Tin Omkar mangalacharanam. Message of Adarneeya Nivedita Bhide Didi, Vice President,Vivekananda Kendra was conveyed by Smt. Sikhamoni Deka, Faculty VKNRL School of Nursing.
Kendra Parichay (a brief introduction) was given by Smt Ritumoni Didi, Golaghat and Nagaon Nagar Pramukh followed by speech on the sacrifices and dedication of Eknath Ji by Shri Sushomoy Purakayashtha Ji, nagaon and Bokakhat vivag sanchalak. Bhajan was performed by staff nurse, VKNRL Hospital. The students of VKNRL School of Nursing did Shanti mantra Aradhana and performed a patriotric song. Ms. Madhuri Tamuly, student of GNM 2nd year, VKNRL School of Nursing delivered a speech on the life history of Eknath ji Ranade. The program was ended with Shanti Mantra and Kendra prayer.
