The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Assam Sjt. Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated VKNRL School of Nursing on 14th July 2018. Along with the Chief Minister other dignitaries Sjt. Atul Bora , Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture and food processing, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and Town and Country Planning; Sjt. Keshav Mahanta, Minister of Water Resources, Science and Technology Culture  Affairs (only Library and Archaeology Matters); Smt. Roselina Tirkey, MLA of Sarupathar, Golaghat; Sjt. SK Barua, Managing Director, NRL; Sjt. B.J. Phukan, Director (Technical), NRL; District Authorities, Senior Officials of NRL, Adhikaries of  Vivekananda Kendra and a host of invitees and distinguished guests have graced the programme  with their presence .

 

 

 

 

 

The Chief Guest were received by Sjt. Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, Director (Technical), NRL and Smt. Nani Daflary, Principal, VKNRL School of Nursing with Phulam Gamusa and Gayan Bayan. The programme was initiated with chanting Tin Omkar and Mangalacharanam in accordance with the principles of Vivekananda Kendra and it was followed by felicitation of the guests by Smt. Namsita Chetri, Faculty, VKNRL School of Nursing.

 

 

 

MD, NRL as Chairman VKNRL Nursing School Trust welcomed the gathering and enlightened on the Nursing School Project that the same is expected to bring about a sea change in the socio-economic development of the region and Planning in alignment with the Government of India’s focus on Skill Development, Women Empowerment, Education of the Girl Child and Rural Health Care. The School will offer General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course with 40 intakes per annum. First batch of students, mostly from Golaghat district, has already been enrolled in the 2017-18 session.

 

 

Dr. Soumitra Puzari, Secretary, VKNRL School of Nursing delivered an informative speech about the formation of VKNRL Nursing School Trust and management of the school named after the Nations great saint Swami Vivekananda. It was followed by playing a short flim on Nursing School (https://youtu.be/PmqlZk4sa3M ).  The hon’ble Ministers Sjt. Keshav Mahanta, Sjt. Atul Bora and Sjt. Roselina Tirkey also spooked about and encouraged the team for taking such initiative for the development of underpriviledged girl students.

Assam Chief Minister said that the VKNRL School of Nursing is a way towards paying tribute to the 855 martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the six-year long Assam Agitation."Named after the great son of the nation Swami Vivekananda," Sonowal said the school will be an effort to materialize the maxim of Vivekananda "Service to man is Service to God".He advised the students of the nursing school to imbibe human values, empathy and compassion to serve the people.He also called upon the trustees of VKNRL School of Nursing to render quality and value-based education so that the school becomes an epitome of 'sustainability with quality'.

 

Honorable Chief Minister also visited the infrastructure of VKNRL School of Nursing accompanied by the Managing Director, NRL, Director (T), NRL and Sjt. Debashish Choudhury, Chief General Manager (Human Resource I/C), NRL and had an interaction with faculty and students of the school. He then visited the hostel and inaugurated the Pipe Natural Gas Supply Network of Numaligarh Refinery Township in the student hostel kitchen.

 

Last but not the least the programme ended with vote of thanks by the Principal, VKNRL School of Nursing acknowledging specially Chief Minister of Assam and other dignitaries for sparing their valuable time and making the moment into a memorable one. Further on Smt. Daflary also extended her vote of thanks to Sjt. P. Padmanabhan, the retired Managing Director, NRL. Sjt Goda Dhar Deka, retired Chief Manager (Human Resource), Sjt. Manash Rai Baruah, retired Sr. General Manager (Project), NRL for the direction, guidance and support that they have provided towards the organization from very beginning and because of which today VKNRL School of Nursing could make the existence felt in the whole region. Smt. Daflary also focused that the truthfulness and true dedication is the mantra to one's successful and meaningful life and stated that on incorporating the preaching life lessons of great soul Swami Vivekananda and with the principles of Nursing Profession and along with true dedication of the whole school unit our nursing students will be not just a competent nurse but also a person with true value that will contribute to the whole region as well as the world.

 

We are grateful to the Chief Minister, other dignitaries and entire team of VKNRL for gracing the event and making it a successful one and we do hope that this special project of NRL will be able to contribute to the mankind beyond our imagination and will continue to grow to the utmost level.
